My Journey Through Fashion — From London to Oxford ✨

Right after graduating in 2004, I stepped straight into the world of couture as a pattern cutter at Alice Temperley — the start of a decade that shaped my craft, my eye, and my love for precision. I grew with the brand for 10 years, mentoring interns, guiding junior pattern cutters, and serving on the London College of Fashion’s Industrial Panel to support the next generation of designers 👗✨

I later joined Seraphine as Senior Gerber Pattern Cutter, creating the patterns behind some truly unforgettable pieces — including the iconic blue maternity coat worn by Kate Middleton, and garments worn by Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine of Sweden 👑💙 Moments like these reminded me why I fell in love with couture: the detail, the discipline, the magic.

Alongside I collaborated with incredible independent designers across London and supported university students during their final collections — helping them turn ideas into runway‑ready garments. Those years were full of creativity, problem‑solving, and witnessing young talent come alive 🎓✂️

Life shifted when our family moved to beautiful Oxford after my second and third child. And in that new chapter, Oxford Bespoke Gowns was born — a place where all my years of craftsmanship, technical expertise, and love for couture finally came together 💛👗

2 — Early Ambition & Education
Finishing school at 16, studying fashion, business, and design — building the foundation for a future in couture.

Because I started school a year early, I also finished early — passing my A‑levels at just 16. My parents were proud, but they were also very clear: fashion is wonderful, but education is essential.
So while they supported my love for design, they insisted I study business and accounting too. A balanced foundation, they said. And they were right 💛📚

I spent 5 years in part‑time university and 3 years full‑time studying dressmaking, pattern cutting, and design. Those were intense, beautiful years — the years that shaped the professional I became.

At 21, I moved to the UK and continued my journey at Uxbridge College, then Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication.
